It's time to be extra vigilant with checking our pets for ticks. Until December, ticks will be spreading through bush, scrub and creeks. Vets are warning pet owners to be on the look out for the deadly paralysis tick. The neurotoxin affects the nervous and respiratory systems with pets losing feelings to their limbs and have trouble breathing if not treated quickly. 85% of ticks are found around the head and neck. Vets recommend fortnightly drip-on treatment, weekly tick baths and tick collars.
If we didn't have pets, how empty our lives would be!
